The former midfielder, who represented his country’s senior team 116 times during his prestigious career, is out of work after deciding to hang up his boots at the end of last season.
And Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Pirlo would be keen on sealing a return to the Azzurri should Ancelotti or Conte land the top job.
Pirlo worked under Ancelotti at AC Milan while he enjoyed his time with Conte during the fiery Italian’s spell in charge of Juventus and the national team.
Reports suggest Pirlo could even link up with current caretaker boss Luigi Di Biagio should a proposal be made.
Italy, who failed to qualify for the World Cup this summer for the first time in 60 years, will look to appoint a new manager this summer.
Conte’s future at Chelsea is up in the air and could leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Ancelotti, on the other hand, is out of work after being sacked by Bayern Munich in September 2017.
